It's never good when your boss, your boss's boss, and your boss's boss's boss all get you on the phone for a "conference".

Thankfully, it wasn't something I did wrong, but it did keep me at work until after 11:30 at night trying to figure out resolutions.

This job drives me crazy sometimes.

An Elephant Story

Nah, not really.  Well, sorta.

My sister somehow collects elephants.  She says she doesn't.  Yet, every year and on various occasions, she gets some new elephant trinket.  She's not even sure how it reallly happened.  Heh.

The same thing kinda happened to me.  When we were living in Spain, Eric and I passed by a store in Puerto de Santa Maria that had a lovely musical rocking horse.  I stood and admired it for a good while before moving on.  Later, I don't remember if it was my birthday, anniversary or Christmas, but, I happily unwrapped it and put it in a place of honor.  Then, somehow, everyone thought I collected rocking horses, so, I received rocking horses for quite some time after that.  The collection is put away now, but, I still remember that horse fondly.

This video posted on FaceBook reminded me of my sister's elephants and, in turn, my rocking horses.

It's a neat story.  http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=410861091927

I hate giving bad news.

I've been having to give bad news all day and changing people's lives.

Sure, I wanted to change people's lives when I came out here, but in a GOOD way.  Not like this.

Bummed.  Totally.

You look mahvelous...

Remember that old Billy Crystal skit on Saturday Night Live?  I loved that.

Anyway, I know a fair bunch of folks who are beautiful, yet, they don't see themselves that way at all.  One of my friends is interested in surgery to correct flaws that she sees in her appearance.  My daughter and I even have a regular argument about how I think she's lovely and she doesn't.  She thinks I'm biased.  I told her, no, I'm not biased, she just doesn't see how beautiful she is.

I was able, on Skype tonight, to get a chorus of "Yes you are's" from behind her when she was arguing with me that she wasn't beautiful.  HA!  So there!

Mom wins every time.  She did manage to trick me once when I was distracted in something like a Bugs Bunny "shoot me now" moment.  But, I will be on guard ever after, little vixen.  Yes, I will.

Hardly Even Started...

We thought that getting into Interlochen was the most difficult part.

Nope.

The mountains of paperwork like the financial aid package and everything else is the really tough bit.

I think we've tackled it.  Well, really, Eric tackled it.  I just kicked it a little while it was down and whimpering.
