Yep, I'm a girl.
One of the guys I work with used these shoes to run in today:

I just love those!
Remember a while back, when there were these runners that won a bunch of marathons barefoot? These are supposed to be healthier for your feet and it keeps you from cutting up your feet on twigs and rocks, too!
I was thinking of getting them for my son, but I just might get a set for myself.
Don't believe me?

About the discrimination? Here is just one example of how accepted the discrimination against contractors is here. How many tables are the contractors allowed to sit at? One.
Sleeplessness

I get between 7 and 8 hours of sleep every night but, when I wake up, I don't feel rested at all.
One of the girls I know here, she's always talking about the weird dreams she has and, that's when I realized that either I'm not dreaming or I'm not remembering any of them.
The not remembering part I'm not concerned about. It's the not dreaming part that concerns me. I saw something locally about how a lot of folks have sleep problems in a war zone. I suppose I could be included in the bunch.
All I know is I'm really tired all the time. Could have a little to do with working more than 84 hours every week, too.
Relief

It's a relief to have someone filling one of the three jobs that I've been doing out here.
I'm not sure what I'll do with only two. Oh yeah, that's right. Do my two jobs PROPERLY.
I wasn't able to give the teams the care and attention they needed before, but, now I'll be able to focus on improving processes and, hopefully, making things better.
The verdict is still out, I think. There are some wild ponies that don't want to be corralled.
Bingo Wings!

Ever heard of 'em?
Bingo wings is the term that comes from an older woman shouting bingo and waving her arms, with the flabby underneath part (the triceps area, I think) waving long after she stops...
I've been trying to work out pretty regularly with my buddy and am even getting a little bit of muscle definition in my arms. Hopefully, those encroaching bingo wings will be a fading memory soon.
My buddy is always great about paying attention when I'm lifting, helping to re-seat the bar when I'm done and all that. But, if he were one of THOSE guys...
Well, the results could be this:
