So, after a hiatus of over 15 years, Eric and I have finally committed to a dojo here.  Specifically, Aikido in Fredericksburg.

The environment is friendly, unlike a dojo that I briefly attended in Michigan, and the facilities are gorgeous.  Everyone has been very welcoming.

Sensei had some nice things to say about our form and how we were a little rusty but, pretty good overall.  That's pretty encouraging!

I still need to get the backward rolls down.  I never really liked them so didn't get all that fantastic at them in the first place.  I got some great pointers last night, though, and think I can get it nailed down pretty quickly.

I have some work to do on my hakama - the kids have taken it out over the  years and played with it so it's a bit worse for wear.

All in all, though, a great experience.  I'm trying to encourage Ethan to join.  Hopefully, he'll step outside his comfort zone and give it a shot.  I really think it's right down his alley.
