Now, this site may not be a scam.  But it's made me leery of making purchases from sites until I check their Better Business Bureau (BBB) rating.

This site is not a BBB member.  Clue #1.

They ARE, however, listed on the site.  With an "F" rating.   Clue #2.

I purchased a gift for my daughter for Christmas and requested expedited shipping (which was a lot extra - about half as much as what the gift cost) and it never arrived.  Repeated emails and calls to the site went unanswered.

Argh.  Lesson learned.  Complaint made to the BBB.

I will be more cautious in the future and avoid sites like www.avantgardegadgets.com.

I finally went to a different site (verified with the BBB and is a member in good standing) and got the gift for her.

Sigh.
