Although it wasn't a conscious decision, my husband and I have stopped giving each other dead and dying things (cut flowers) for our anniversary.

Somehow, it seemed to send the wrong message.  So, I bought Eric a ficus bonsai tree and he came to work yesterday bearing a Phal Orchid for me.

We had a nice lunch together, which was good because I had a long work-day yesterday so I didn't get home until a bit late.  But Eric made chicken tacos.  Delicious.

Oh, and Friday was Eric's 40th birthday.  I only made a little bit of fun of him since mine is looming close, but, we went to Las Tapas in Alexandria and had a nice array of tapas (Spanish appetizers).  Including rabbit.  I'm sure I had it at some point as a kid, but, it was the first time I can remember trying it.  It was fantastic.  Very much like chicken.  So much so, that I was looking at the bones to see if it was really chicken and they were messing with us.  I would definitely get that again.
