Death March

That's what the walk that Eric and I took felt like by the time we got about 2/3rds of the way through it.
We went to Prince William Park with grandiose ideas of completing this one trail that we've always started but never quite made the end of it. The trail itself is 8.7 miles. We made it to the end of the trail and came back on a couple of shorter trails, but by about mile 11, we were trudging through the woods wishing we could teleport ourselves back to our truck. By the 15th and the appearance of our vehicle like a beacon through the woods, we were limping along.
To add insult to injury, I almost caused an accident flailing around in the truck when I found a tick on my hand. Eric was able to grab the tick and fling it out the window and get the truck back onto the right side of the road.
We had no trick or treaters come by before we went over to my sister's place. She had a bunch of the little beggars stop by, so it felt pretty good to give out candy to SOMEone.
Eric and I are exhausted and heading to bed STAT.
