The folks at the air terminal told all of us space-A passengers that we should "forget about it" when trying to get a space available slot this morning for the flight to Kuwait.

Here's the good news though.  All the military that were trying to go on R&R that were loitering around the terminal - yeah, most of those folks got out this morning.  I'm hoping that bodes well for me.  And my coworkers.  Two of my coworkers are going with me.  So at least I'll be in good company.

I have a scheduled flight out of Kuwait on Saturday.  Although, that only means that I have a good chance of getting on the plane, not a guaranteed one.  Contractors, as always, have the lowest priority.  I'm going to do my darnedest to try to get on an earlier R&R flight, though.  No sense in letting moss grow under my feet, right?

I'm so ready to go.

I got back to my room this morning and turned on my computer and... nothing.  I had to do a system restore to the default factory settings.  I am SO going to use the warranty on this thing when I get home.  It's a good thing that I was able to recover what data remained on my laptop and toss it on an external hard drive. 

So, tonight is the next attempt.  To hedge my bets, I got a visa for Qatar in case I need to go through there to get to Kuwait.  Heck, I want to get the heck outta Dodge.
