Scaling Back...

I've packed two trunks of stuff up to mail home and gave away the free t.v. I was given.  I'm starting to clear up some stuff and the turnover is going well with my replacement.  I've been feeding him bits and pieces over the last couple of months, though, so he's got very little to learn...

So I didn't feel too guilty about my long workout tonight.

I've got two workout buddies now, and they're constantly challenging each other to do one more rep or add that little bit of extra weight to the bar.  So, I've gotten a bit caught up in it.

When I first started weight training, I could barely lift the bar alone.  Now, I've been pretty consistently hefting 15 on each side along with the bar. Sooo, that's 75lbs I'm lifting now.  For a couple of sets today, I lifted 80.   We were pushing each other to muscle exhaustion and I was ALMOST there.  I'm really feeling it now.

Thinking on it, though, I don't want to GAIN muscle mass.  So I might just crank back the weight a little and do more reps.    The 30 minutes on the bike afterward (7.70 miles at level 8) also allowed me to have a blueberry muffin.  It was quite tasty.
