Closing in

by blondtwin Email

Time is getting short here.  I'm starting to pass down my stuff to my successor and lean back a little.

Okay, not so much yet, but, starting September 1st, those reins are getting STOLEN.  Heh.

The enterprise manager (whose position I filled for quite some time while still filling my own) is going on vacation, so I'll be filling his slot while my replacement fills mine.  So, we'll be sitting side-by-side for that entire month.

He's gonna get downright tired of me.  And that's as it should be, I think.  He's going to have to make his mark on his own and I know he can do it.

I'm trying to be optimistic about the job thing - there are a couple of definite maybes for worky stuff, so we'll see what happens.  I'm keeping all my fingers and toes crossed.

I will keep you in my prayers that you get a job and can come home and beable to live comfortably. So you can enjoy watching the kids grow and finish school. Don't drive your replacement over the edge to much so that he/she doesn't quit and leave you stuck there till they get a replacement. lol.

Your replacement is lucky that you guys are "filthy contractors". The whole idea of filling a future position and training your replacement before you leave is a foreign concept in the government. Where I work it's more like "You are here to replace someone that left months ago, so, Welcome aboard, here's the manual, now figure it out." And lest we forget, "I'll want a briefing and status update on that in 4 hours."
