Miscommunication
by blondtwin
I got on the phone with Eric after getting back to my compound and I was struggling with my umbrella and juggling that, my gym bag, and my cell phone all at once.
So, the umbrella was acting up, wouldn't stay open and I told Eric about it. Being the hero-type, he said, "do you want me to send you one?" I said nah, I don't need another one, I thought this one would be okay. Thinking of my pink flowered umbrella, I asked if he could send that one and he said, "no, I only see two, a white one and a cream one."
White and cream? What the heck was he talking about? I don't remember ever buying a white or cream umbrella. I shrugged it off and reassured him that the one I have is okay.
Later, we were chatting online and he asked if I'd fixed my bra strap. I sent him a message to the effect of "I have no idea what you're talking about". But then I thought about it. White and cream. He thought I was talking about bras.
Even with all the communication tools in the world, sometimes things just don't get across.
