Something Afoot

by blondtwin Email

This is the cartoon I promised from the other day's funny escapades.  The girls have recovered from their fright over non-existent mice and can laugh about it easily now.

I kinda fear that I might have started the whole thing inadvertently.  You see, I was laying on my belly on the bed, with my feet back by the tent wall and I felt something brush across my foot.  It was the tent wall, I knew that, and it was windy.  But I spooked a little because I thought it was one of the third country nationals (TCNs) and he'd tried to grab my foot.  All the tents around us are filled with the guys.  Does that make them less honorable than anyone else?  No.  But, they all stare and I get a little bit twitchy.

My tent-mate, Karen, was talking to me when the "foot grab" occurred.   Then she had her nyquil induced episode and, then followed the other tent-mate mistaking something falling out of her suitcase for a critter.

So.  I might have been a teensy bit at fault there.

I can just see her cowering while you "man-up" and look for the bogeyman in the blanket.

She wouldn't go anywhere NEAR the bed until I got the blanket off and we looked at each corner of it. Then I had to check the sheets. Normally, I'd be the person cowering and having Eric check it out, but Afghanistan is like Detroit, you know, "where the weak are killed and eaten". Gotta be strong and all that.
