No, not there...

Most folks know that the Russians left lots of little unexploded presents hanging around Afghanistan.  I drive past these reminders daily and have to remind myself that it would be imprudent, no matter how impatient I'm feeling, to take a shortcut.

Especially here.

It just gets tiring going about 10 miles an hour around the base when I can practically see the building I work in on the other side of the runway.  Okay, my vision isn't QUITE that good, but, you know what I mean.  I guess it's good that I'm not the driver of these vehicles, because I have a feeling my driving privileges would be revoked fairly quickly here.

I'm adjusting to the new job, and am shifting my schedule a bit to attend all the meetings with the folks back stateside.  Seems strange to me that we're the ones that have to stay late to accommodate their work schedules.  You would think it would be the other way around.
