Second Class? Nosirree.

by blondtwin Email

It bothers me sometimes that certain military folks treat us contractors like second class citizens.

We can't get medical care unless we're dying, we can't take carryout trays out of the DFAC, blah blah blah.  If we need a flight and there's one seat and a military person comes up at the last second wanting to get on (even if we've reserved a seat), they will take our seat. If we've been on a housing list for months and a military person comes in, they get the housing first.

I totally get that we're here to support the military.  I am happy and proud to do so.   Even when working with military personnel who despise contractors.

I've met lots of nice folks on my adventure in Afghanistan so far, both military and civilian alike.  But, it's those few who get on my last nerve.

What's especially ironic is the fact that we're prior military. We've DONE time in uniform. Plus have years of skills and education in our various jobs--and keep on serving our country even when we get out.

That's proof that for SOME there absolutely IS no intelligence in the military. It's always that few that make it ugly for the rest.
