We had Aikido class tonight and there was a new student with no martial arts background.

I was taking him through the basics of movement, falling, rolling, stance, shikko, etc, and the class continued as we went over this stuff.  Well, he started hearing loud slams against the mat and he turned with a somewhat panicked look on his face to see what was going on.

I told him, not to worry, we'd go at his pace. 

What I really wanted to do was an ObiWan move, "No, those are not the falls you're seeing..." or something like that...
