Eric and I have been married 18 years today.

Sure, we've had bad times, but, overall, we've shared some incredible years.  

I can be cranky, a nag (he only ever called me that ONCE), and generally a pain in the patootie, but he, for some mysterious reason, loves me despite all that.

People have asked me about how we manage being apart like this.  Personally, I think being apart like this HELPS our relationship.  Instead of being caught up in day-to-day trudgery and laying in bed at night wondering if I even know who the stranger is that's sleeping next to me (okay, not quite THAT bad, but you get what I mean),  we end up reconnecting at a deeper level when I'm here.  We communicate more, we make time for each other, basically, we re-prioritize our lives to make sure we stay connected. 

I'm not sure why we don't do that as much at home, but there it is. 

So, yay!  18 years have flown by.  Here's to many more.  Cheers!
