The Desert Princess Diet Plan

by blondtwin Email

Whether or not I'm a desert princess is highly debatable.  I find it kind of scary and creepy the amount of attention even girls like me get.

But, all in all I've lost 26.4 lbs since I've gotten here.

How, you might ask?

I cut out a lot of the carbs I ate.  I still eat some, but if I get a philly cheese steak sandwich, I ask them to hold the bread.  So, stuff like that.

I rarely eat fried foods.  I'll grab a couple of onion rings or french fries every now and again.  I don't consider it "denying myself" or "treating myself", I'm just trying to lessen the importance of it.

Fresh vegetables and fruit.  That can be hard to get out here, but, I eat a lot of raw veggies like salad, cucumber, carrots, and the like.  I make sure I eat those first before I let myself have whatever fatty/carbolicious thing I have on my plate.  I try not to eat the cooked veggies because they have a lot of salt added.

Yeah, salt.  Bad.

Lots of protein.  I try get a good bit of protein in, but nothing too fatty.

I still eat snacks like Cheezits and Swedish Fish, but, I'll have a few and then put the box/bag away.  One: who knows when I'll get more?  and two: I don't NEED the whole box/bag at once to satisfy that craving.

I'm also making rewards non-food based.  Victoria's Secret had a deal on three sweaters for $30.  I just earned the first one.  Five more lbs and I can have the second, and another five, the third.  Woo.

So, that's it.  Now you, too, have the secret.  Well, I'm working out, too.  That definitely helps.  Especially when I hit plateaus.

Sounds like you've discovered all the right secrets! Keep up the good work, & remember it really is important to reward yourself on occasion. By the way, don't forget to keep your distance from 2 of the biggest problem items: pop and fruit juices. Both are extremely high in calories.

Steve,
I only very seldom (once every couple of weeks) let myself have soda with calories in it. Most of the time, I have to content myself with Diet Pepsi if I drink soda. And the fruit juices here - yeah, no worries there. They're ucky.

You go girl I was doing great till last month kinda lost my drive. but down 25lbs since June 1st. But still no soda since last May 31st. Unless I have a mixed drink which drinking is very rare. I started back on the wii fit plus. I have to remind myself to do it and I really need to check out the other fitness game I bought yet.hmm sometimes there isn't enough time in the day. The next intention is to get on the treadmill at work. That means getting into a routine for the 12 1/2 hour shifts again. I started back on those Jan 1st. YES the salt is a big culpret of todays weight gain in the world. I know if I eat the wrong foods the next day the hands swell up and the knees hurt from slipping and not watching the salt content. Keep strong you are doing great. oh yeah lots of water 64oz a day at least, but I am sure you know that. lol

Pandora's absolutely right about the water. Try & drink it at least every 1 1/2 hours, because it also helps burn calories. Just don't overdo it. You have to stay motivated but also safe.

Pandora: way to go as well! Holding back with the salt is a great idea for many reasons. Stay motivated like you are now!
