Avatar

I'll admit it, I'm a sucker for great graphics. Which is why I could never get into World of Warcraft - the cartooniness of it.  Which I think is interesting, considering my art form of choice is cartoons...

But, Avatar.  Wow.  That was one great-looking movie.  The DETAIL... sigh... I could look at the graphics in that thing for a long time.  I can pretty safely say that it's made it into my top 5 movies.

I know, I know.  It's not exactly taxing to watch mentally.  Trust me, I'm okay with that.  I go to movies to be entertained.  If I wanted to be lectured, well, I'd go back to school.

Jamie and Ismail went to see Avatar when it opened. She said it's kind of like an updated, R rated version of Fern Gulley. Being cut off from all of my movie going buddies, I haven't seen it yet:(

Susan - Jamie had it right on when she said it was Ferngully for adults. I think it's rated PG-13, though. I guess they took the extended alien sex scene out to get that PG-13 rating. I heard they're going to include it on the director's cut version of the DVD. *shakes head*

Chuck and I went to see it drove all the way to the IMAX in Grand Blanc only to have it sold out :( so we ended up seeing it in 3D in Lapeer. I thought it was pretty good but looong. and I am not a big fan of those types of movies. but I did have a hard time everytime the menioned the PLANT Pandora. I guess I just finally had gotten used to the jewelry commercials but to sit and hear that in the theater was weird...
