They had pumpkin pie today. I LOVE pumpkin pie.

I love it so much I wrote a poem about it.  *grin*

Ode to Pumpkin (Pie)

Oh, pie of vegetable sweet

   What a tasty holiday treat

Plain, whipped topping or a la mode

 You transport me to a heavenly abode

In cookies, cakes, or rolled up with frosting

   My scale tells me what this is costing

I care not, for you are a delight

  Morning, afternoon, or every night

Fool me not with cheap imitations

  Sweet potatoes have their limitations

For it is the pumpkin I crave

  And for its savory spices I am a willing slave
