Chiricahua...

by blondtwin Email

I went to Chiricahua National Monument today.  I got into the park free because it's National Free Public Land Use Day (or something like that).  Whatever.  I wasn't going to say no.

I thought I'd be able to stop and get something to eat along the way, but no likely suspects presented themselves and so, when I got to the park, I ate what was left of a small bag of Corn Nuts and a little 100 calorie pack of the Oreos.  I had a couple other bags of cookies and some water in my pack, but, really, I knew better and should have been better prepared.

I hiked around for a couple hours in Echo Canyon and took a bunch of photos.  Here are the highlights; if you want to see the rest, you can check out my FaceBook album here:  http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=112299&id=694871546&saved#/album.php?aid=112299&id=694871546

Not too shabby for a camera phone, huh?

This place reminds me of Colorado National Monument in Grand Junction.

Your pictures bring to mind some of the places that we camped as kids. Those are some great memories. I wonder who has the photos from the family camping trips way back when?

I think Sheila does. Lots of those pics were on the film reels though, if I remember right. I'm not sure where they ended up.

I wonder, is Nancy ever going to post any comments about the "interesting Rock Formation" photo's that you took while you were out in the Desert the other day?
